Top 3 Reasons Why Diets Fail by Nordine Zouareg

You most likely have been on a diet before or are on one now or thinking about going on one. It’s probably not the first time nor the second, why is that? Probably because the last diet failed you and you are thinking of trying a new one to test it just to see if the claims are true. But, the answer is that no diets work. So, what can you do in order to lose the weight and achieve your overall fitness goals? The answer is to change your lifestyle, be accountable for your actions, and include a fitness routine. In fact, the top three reasons why diets fail are because people are unwilling to change their lifestyles, do not take responsibility for their actions, and avoid exercise.

Lifestyle Changes

Changing your lifestyle is a though thing to do. Going on a diet is pretty easy because in the back of your mind you are thinking that you won’t eat those chocolate chip cookies today but when you achieve your target weight you can eat them again. So, avoiding them for a period of time is not that big of a deal because you will eat them again soon. This is the wrong attitude because when you begin eating them again you begin regaining the weight.

In order to lose weight and keep it off you have to change how perceive things, in other words change your mind, change your life. Otherwise, you are just going on another diet that will eventually fail. So, focus on changing the way you think about food, pay attention to how you feel after you eat food, how you cook it, and your activity levels. Changing your lifestyle is the only way you can successfully lose weight.

Accountability

Many diets fail because we are not accountable for your actions. This must change in order for a person to be able to achieve their weight and fitness goals. A great way to be accountable is to make a chart for exercise and another for diet. Keep track of how often you exercise as well as how often you overindulge or cheat. Before long you will start being more conscientious and make better choices when it comes to exercise and eating. Making yourself accountable for your actions will give you self confidence and willpower to continue with your new lifestyle.

Exercise

The final reason many fail with their diet, is because people simply do not exercise. If you truly want to lose weight and keep it off then you must begin exercising and continue exercising for as long as you’d like to stay fit and healthy. Not only is this a healthy decision to make but it is also a decision that will allow you to lose weight faster. Moreover, exercise will allow you to maintain your target weight once you reach it.

There are many reasons why diets fail and they are different for every person. However, the three reasons why diets fail listed here are very common and most everyone who has ever failed at a diet failed because one or more of these reasons.
