Two Fast Weight Loss Tips

Two Fast Weight Loss Tips

It is no secret that if you seriously wish to get rid of your belly fat or lose those awful love handles, exercising is the way to go. However, exercising doesn't mean working out in the gym for too long or doing the same type of exercise over and over again. Exercising doesn't mean doing a hundred abdominal crunches either.

The best exercise plan is one which consists of a variety of workouts and most importantly, help you burn fat from all parts of your body instead of just one particular area. Here are two main reasons why you should do a variety of workouts:

a) You cannot force your body to spot reduce fat at any particular section. You may want to get rid of your love handles first, but if your body has decided to burn fat from your belly first, it would do exactly that. Thus, even if you do five hundred abdominal crunches per day, you are not going to be successful in your aim; if anything, you would probably lose your valuable abdominal muscles instead of those love handles.

b) If you do only one type of workout everyday, your body soon gets accustomed to it and adjusts your metabolic rate accordingly. As such, it is only a matter of time before you stop burning fat with this workout. On the other hand, if you do a variety of workouts, your body would get confused about which level to set your metabolic rate at. Consequently, it would always keep your metabolism at a high level, thereby speeding up the weight loss process for you.

So which exercises should you do? Well there are two types of workouts out there, aerobics and strength training, and if you ask me, I would say you should do both, since each has its own unique advantages.

1. Aerobics: Aerobic exercises are also known as cardios or cardiovascular activities. The main advantage of cardios is that you don't need to spend money on an expensive gym membership or an exercise machine in order to do them. All you need is just a pair of good shoes for walking or running, and you are all set to start.

In order to gain the maximum mileage from aerobics, it is a good idea to focus only on those workouts which burn fat from your large muscles such as chest, hips, back, legs, etc. Once fat starts burning from the large muscle groups, the smaller muscle groups would automatically follow suit.

The best cardio exercises are jogging, running, skiing and walking, since all of them focus on burning fat both from upper and lower regions of your body.

2. Strength training exercises: While cardios are good for weight loss, one major problem with them is that you need to keep doing them forever to stay slim, since cardios help you burn fat only when you are doing them. If you wish to keep weight away permanently, then you must combine cardios with strength training workouts.

Unlike cardios, strength training builds lean muscle mass for you. When you have a lot of lean muscle tissues, you would be able to burn fat even without working out. So, if you wish to burn fat even at rest and maintain your slim figure forever, don't forget to include strength training exercises in your workout routine.
